Confrontation and benevolence, isolation and belonging, above and below, shyness and seduction; Jessica’s work explores the contradictions that exist within and around us. Her work is often autobiographical or complete fantasy, taking form as installation, poetry and sculpture; using sarcastic titles to disguise the vulnerability within the work.
During her sculpture studies at The Glasgow School of Art, Jessica received a 3-year sponsorship from a rail freight company EWS. Whilst studying she produced an arts programme for children during a summer residency in New York; facilitated an arts project at Glenocil Prison and worked night shifts at a taxi call centre. Recently Jessica’s work was selected for REVERB, a 2022 annual exhibition at the National Gallery of Scotland; co-organised, secured sponsorship and exhibited in The Alternative Degree Show and assisted in the developed of Graduate Drive Thru, where Jessica’s art work featured on BBC and STV news.
