Her work responds to the sensory and material properties of her chosen medium and is guided by stimuli internal and external to the body (stimming). She employs systematic layering, ritualized, repetitive movement as mark making, focusing in on the act itself rather than a final outcome. Drawing and mark-making are a crucial support to her non-verbal communication and exploration.Alice Wilson is a young, emerging, neurodivergent artist from Edinburgh who accesses the Garvald Edinburgh artists supported studio to make her artwork.
During lockdown Alice joined the core group of Garvald Artists, working from Orwell Arts and has fast become one of the studios most dedicated and prolific Members.
