My work revolves around my fascination with the stubborn persistence of the mysterious in the mundane and everyday. By detailed reworking familiar subjects with imagined lighting and colour, convincing fictions of reality are created which explore this shift into the folkloric or fantastical
Over several years, I have explored two main themes. Firstly a relationship with the Scottish landscape, always titled with quotes from Grimm’s Fairy tales, and secondly a collective experience of continental Europe, always titled with quotes from the Treaty of Rome.
