Tommy Mason
A Birdoil on canvas85x65cmMason has a quietly bold colour palette and his renditions of life are beyond our wildest imagination. He creates his paintings effortlessly, without hesitation or self-consciousness. With a playful sense of humour, he composes his canvases with his signature people, animals and trees. Despite having a strict vocabulary of forms, Mason’s artworks are always evolving; carrying forward his subjects from one painting to the next whilst keeping them fresh and unique. In addition to regularly exhibiting with Project Ability’s gallery he has exhibited widely in galleries in the UK and overseas.Tommy Mason is a Scottish artist working within the Aspire studios at Project Ability in Trongate, Glasgow. As an adult with learning disabilities, Mason has been able to excel in the arts via the support given by the Aspire studio tutors. He has worked with Project Ability for over 20 years, in which time he has become accustomed to working on large canvases.
