In the artist’s work, pieces of jewellery as retainers of memory are made meaningful by their collection as discrete, often found, items. Working with bone is significant as it is a material that is overlooked in contemporary design and provokes questions relating to the body of the maker, inviting the viewer to explore these connections too. These wearable and sculptural pieces are conceived to reconnect their audience with a sense of place, nostalgia, and the human body itself; matters which are easily neglected, but which are intrinsic to our everyday lives.Clare Robb is a jewellery and object designer-maker, illustrating connections between a sense of place identity, and the act of collection. She studied Silversmithing and Jewellery at the Glasgow Silversmithing and Jewellery at the Glasgow on the East coast of Scotland.
