For this project the glass workshop used the Japanese Kirigami technique. Kirigami is a variation of Origami in which the paper is cut after being folded. This allowed the artists to create a pattern that could be followed with their chosen glass colours. The glass pieces have gone through different kiln-formation processes to create the bowl shapes and then polished to its final state.
Julie Innes has worked in the glass workshop for a few years now. Her work gets inspiration from her favourite subjects; beans and butter on toast, or candles on a birthday cake.
