For this project the glass workshop used the Japanese Kirigami technique. Kirigami is a variation of Origami in which the paper is cut after being folded. This allowed the artists to create a pattern that could be followed with their chosen glass colours. The glass pieces have gone through different kiln-formation processes to create the bowl shapes and then polished to its final state.
Katherine Tollervey finds inspiration from subjects and stories found in the Fairy castles, or the Victorian Times. She likes to know about different parts of the world, and the Venetian masks are one of her favourite objects.
