For this project the glass workshop used the Japanese Kirigami technique. Kirigami is a variation of Origami in which the paper is cut after being folded. This allowed the artists to create a pattern that could be followed with their chosen glass colours. The glass pieces have gone through different kiln-formation processes to create the bowl shapes and then polished to its final state.
Samantha Jones is part of the Tippereth and Garvald community. She has been working in the Glass and Weaving workshops for years and her love for patchwork is reflected in both her disciplines.
