I work within an expanded abstract painting practice. My work contains physical and emotional fragments of previous encounters imprinted within my mind. Memories are continually worn and filtered through replay, self-editing and loss. I view my work as untold stories that cannot be put into words. The work walks along an invisible line between representation and abstraction, a balancing act of memory and imagination which creates an intersection between one thing and another.
Madeleine lives in the North East of Scotland nestled between the mountains and beaches. She returned to education as a mature student graduating in 2019 with first class Hon' from Moray School of Art. Presently she works from her home studio, primarily within an expanded painting practice.
