I am primarily a woodworker who has explored the possibilities of using salvaged wood within the format of 2 D / relief constructed assemblages. In this respect I share many of the concerns and preoccupations of contemporary painters and collage artists. However, the previous incarnation of the salvaged material as a 3D object is an important part of the narrative and how I approach composition. I don't regard my work as an image "of something", but an object in itself.
