Creating to experience mindfulness is something that Martha was exploring in her practice. This work is therapeutic, and she had been thinking of the benefits of using art as a therapy; working to emote a sense of joy, wonder and positivity. Through the repetitive process of print, she used patterns and motifs to allow the viewer to reflect. Her work is the embodiment of contained freedom. Martha wanted to create an enveloping space that allowed the audience to subjectively interpret the work whilst moving through it; drawing a meditational response from both herself and the viewer.
