Born in Edinburgh, Fiona Hutchison is an artist and teacher. Working in tapestry and mixed media she has received major awards from Scottish Arts Council and Crafts Council. She participated in international residences and symposiums, exhibiting in Europe, Japan, Korea, USA, and Australia.

Work explores the contrasting characters and moods of the sea. Ideas are developed through drawing and painting, but only come alive when they are translated into my chosen media: tapestry, paper, stitched and textile. Weaving combine with reclaimed material, the ideas and images explore my personal relationship with water.
