The Still Slow Surrender collection explores our intimate connection between the landscape and our bodily sensations. The work is a culmination of an immersion in the spirit and soul of the East Coast landscape, channeling the cacophony of nature’s impression into a free-flowing hand. The carnal, human experience is captured with bold lines and colours that the land only shows to us at her most intimate moments.
Raised in the landscapes of East Lothian, Alexandra has developed a strong connection to the natural world around her.
The shore, the forest and the hill are her muses, her practice executed whilst among them and brought together through bold sketch work, tufted fabrics and wandering poetry.
