I am a landscape painter interested in the significant impact of human activity upon the planet’s ecosystems, geology & climate, and more specifically how this relates to the rural environment. Issues such as climate change, the coastal and marine environment, agriculture, isolation and migration underpin my work, whilst considering our transitory existence in relation to the geological age of the Earth.
Originally from Australia, Sarah lives and works in the Western Isles of Scotland. In 2021 Sarah won the Jackson’s Painting Prize (Landscape), shortlisted for the Alpine Fellowship Art Prize and recently received the Hulabhaig Curator’s Purchase Award. Previous exhibitions include ING Discerning Eye, Flow (VAS), RSA Annual, Well’s Contemporary Annual and the RSMA, Mall Galleries.
